Worth visiting locally: Penzance, St Michael's Mount, Newlyn and Mousehole, Lands End and Sennen Cove, Porthcurno and The Minack Theatre, Cape Cornwall, St Ives and Carbis Bay, Godrevy Point, Hayle Towans, Praa Sands, Porth Leven and numerous other delightful small coves.
A little further afield: Helston (for visitors at the beginning of May the Helston Flora day is well worth visiting), The Lizard, Falmouth, St Mawes, Truro, Port Isaac (location for Doc Martin), Boscastle, Rock and Padstow,
Gardens: There are numerous beautiful gardens around the area and a little further afield, including the Lost Gardens of Helligan and Eden Project. Leaflets on these are normally available in the property
Art: The area is famous for art and artists. St Ives is the lovely setting of the Tate Gallery above the beautiful Porthmeor beach. The Barbara Hepworth Museum is also located in St. Ives. There are also numerous art galleries and potteries in the area.
Walking: Barn Cottage is located in a designated area of natural beauty and there are plentiful walks in the surrounding area and along coastal paths.
Horse Riding: There are riding schools and pony trekking in the area, information on these is normally held in the property.
Restaurants: There is a small bar area adjacent to the Manor House that provides snacks and a limited range of takeaways. There are numerous great pubs, restaurants, both in Penzance and the surrounding area which cater for all tastes and budgets!
Fishing Trips: Daily fishing trips and boat excursions from St Ives and Penzance.
Isles of Scilly: Barn Cottage is ideally situated as a base to visit the Isles of Scilly on the Scillionion Ferry daily from Penzance .
